PASTOR ADEBOYE'S HABITUAL DECEPTION NEEDS CURBING

As 2015 came to an end, I was somewhat keen to read the annual predictions of Nigeria's team of opportunistic rogue preachers, but non more than the highly respected and highly regarded Pastor Enoch Adeboye...a man whom many Nigerians believe God speaks to, a man whom was said to have raised the dead and a man who drove his car for miles without petrol etcetra etcetra among many other unverifiable boisterous miraculous claims.

To no surprise, the predictions were as predictable and as vague and non-specific as ever.
"Things are likely to get worse before they get better"... like you need spiritual gift to decipher that, except ofcourse it would have helped if he mentioned the month at which things will actually start getting better. Now an economist could probably give a better permutation of when things might actually improve based on the study of the economics of Nigeria vis a vis Government policies and other extraneous factors, but no..."Daddy G O" is going to portray as if God actually made this vague remark and he's just the messenger.

Moving on..."what God started last year he will finish this year" and i ask...like what exactly? once again it would have been more helpful to specify exactly what God started in the life of Nigeria that needs completing this year...im guessing and hoping perhaps Boko Haram destruction? which means this year must be the last year we witness any explosion, but then again since he never actually said that, who is to say the prediction is false if after 2016 BH are still a threat. In 2014 when the girls went missing, Pastor Adeboye kept mute for days until the public outcry #bringbackourgirls got to the point Michelle Obama made a video and the USA promised to intervene.

Talks of drone and sophisticated US military style engagement started making the rounds and true to form...Pastor Adeboye comes out to say God told him the girls will be found this week, apparently banking on US strategic and efficient intervention but alas, over almost 2 years, no girls and nobody has been able to ask what happened with that aspect of "God's" message.

He went further to predict natural disasters, flooding, fire, earthquake etcetra outside Nigeria without mentioning any country or city, date and time of any of these horrible incidents which are bound to claim lives. Now of what purpose is a prediction that we can not avert nor manage due to lack of adequate information.

The most cringeworthy of it all, a prediction of a new sexual disease...the same sexual disease that scientists have already identified in UK health magazine, called mycoplasma genitalium which is being described as a new STD to watch out for in 2016...sigh.

I reckon i could do better than Pastor Adeboye in my prediction of 2016. I predict that children will be born this year, I predict that people will die this year, I predict that Chelsea is not going to win the premier league this year and I predict that there is going to be major Political revelation in Nigeria this year...all that was hidden will be revealed by God. And there you have it.

At this point, I ask myself if someone of Pastor Adeboye's pedigree...as a respected academician, an intellectual and a senior citizen will stoop so low to the point of making stuff up and bogus claims in order to control the minds of his followers and to keep up with the boisterous claims of his annual tete a tete with God, without feeling uncomfortable or guilty, knowing these are all made up by himself through intuition, guess work, wealth of knowledge, wisdom, street smart and access to information.

I find it rather unfair, that instead of offering respite to Nigerians, (free education into Redeemer's college for example) what the likes of Adeboye do is to exploit the fears and insecurities of many Nigerians both rich and poor for their own personal gains and make ridiculous claims about some special relationship with God, thereby placing themselves on a pedestal and cashing in on people's gullibilty and ignorance.

The harm that religious establishments, especially Pentecostal churches do to the minds of many Nigerians can not be underestimated. Nigerians dont think clearly anymore and are no longer using their faculties or skills to solve daily problems, rather the likes of Pastor Adeboye sell falsehood and deception to many and the quest for the extraordinary or supernatural has made many take leave of their brains.

The Nigerian Government need to set up a parastatal asap (ill serve on this board happily) charged with the responsibilities of scrutinising and vetting the affairs of religious organisations...not just churches but mosques and traditional religions as well. Reckless and bogus claims of miracles, ressurection of the dead, cure of cancer and aids etcetra must be substantiated or such establishment be made responsible for any mis-information or misleading the public.

These ridiculously rich private businesses called pentecostal churches but owned by a founder or bishop or general overseer with fleets of cars and private jets must start to give back to the masses in form of taxes, as these businesses are not charitable at all. I am yet to see a Redeem Free Clinic, or Redeem children's hospital where sick children are treated free of charge or a free school for poor children to attend and get quality education.

For Pastor Adeboye, I'd say there is only so long that one can continue to pull the wool over people's eyes. The private jet that is meant for evangelisation but  has never flown to Saudi Arabia or kuwait to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ leave much to be desired. I want to issue a personal challenge to the man of God.

This year, during the Osun Osogbo festival or during the Odun Ifa...I challenge the RCCG to stage a holy ghost convention at the same period in Osogbo town and "bind" and "cast" all the Orisas that will be on display during this period and like Elijah...Daddy G O should confront the Ifa priests and let us see face to face if the God that talks to Adeboye all the time about how he can make more money and build bigger auditoriums via convenant partners and the likes...will respiond when the Ifa priest is facing him eyeball to eyeball, after consultation with the Irunmales and the Orisas.

Can Pastor Adeboye command holyghost fire upon an Ifa Priest in open glare, away from any ochestrated rehearsed set up and what happens if the Ifa priest calls upon the Orisas to take action on Daddy G O in situ...what would happen. I dont know about you but ill pay good money to see that one, so what do you say Pastor? a showdown between Enoch Adeboye and Ifawande Abimbola or David Oyedepo versus Ifayemi Elebuibon (notice how the pastors have Jewish first names and the Ifa priests have Yoruba names) what a cracker that would be.

In conclusion, i honstly believe that Pastor Adeboye or his peers do not need to fly around the world looking for souls when there are people all over the Southwest for instance who do not believe in Jesus but call on Obatala, Ogun and Eshu publicly. Leave the plane at the hanger and take a car ride to Osogbo or Ososa in Ogun State and start your evangelisation there...afterall charity begins at home.

  1. These funny characters will soon discover that their customers are dwindling by the day. Let us continue to expose their lies and doublespeak, our children, hopefully, would not be as vulnerable as we are. If that happens, most of these mega structures, they have as churches will be converted to club houses and factories as it is now happening in Europe
